US President Donald Trump said that he personally appealed to Vladimir Putin to stop the massive attacks on peaceful cities of Ukraine.
The US president told reporters at the White House.
According to Trump, it was a week of record-breaking cold, which, as the American president noted, Ukrainians had never experienced before. He emphasized that under such weather conditions, missile attacks could lead to even greater suffering for the civilian population.
“I personally asked Putin not to shell Kyiv and other cities for a week. He agreed to do so,” Trump noted.
Trump also added that the Ukrainians initially did not believe this information, but were glad to hear it, given the difficult conditions and suffering they were experiencing.
