Head of Lviv regional council resigns
He announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Unfortunately, health problems and the need for long-term rehabilitation do not allow me to carry out my duties fully. At the same time, I believe that the initiated processes of independent audit of jointly owned prerty and transparent competition for the position of the head of the relevant department will be completed efficiently, and the Lviv region will maintain its leadership in qualitative state changes," wrote Hirnyk.
Yevhen Hirnyk has a degree in economics and law, graduated from the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and worked in the State Administration of Affairs under the President of Ukraine. In the 2020 local elections, he was elected to the Lviv Regional Council from the Batkivshchyna party. On December 1 of the same year, he became a deputy to the newly elected head of the regional council, Iryna Hrymak.

As reported, at a session on April 6, deputies of the Lviv Regional Council decided to terminate the powers of the head of the Lviv Regional Council, Iryna Hrymak, early, recognizing the report on her work for two years in this position as unsatisfactory. The session of the Lviv regional council has not been held since the beginning of April.
