“Kyiv. Meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky, together with my colleague Anthony Radakine,” the French general noted.

According to him, the purpose of the visit of the Franco-British delegation to Ukraine is “to maintain reliable support for the Armed Forces, which enables them to continue the fight”, “to define a long-term strategy for the restoration and change of the model of the army”, which serves as the main guarantee of the country's security, as well as “to discuss security measures being developed by France and Great Britain within the framework of the international coalition to help Ukraine after the ceasefire”.

“Together, we strive to ensure sustainable and lasting peace in Ukraine – a prerequisite for the security of the European continent,” Burkhard added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on April 4 in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky was to meet with representatives of the French and British general staffs to discuss the deployment of military contingents in Ukraine.
