France initiated coordination of military forces near Cyprus — sources

French President Emmanuel Macron initiated telephone talks with the prime ministers of Italy and Greece to agree on joint actions to send military resources to Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean.

This was reported to the Public by sources from the French president's entourage.

As part of European solidarity, the French President took the initiative and called Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the morning of March 5.

During the conversation, they agreed to coordinate the deployment of military resources to Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean. In addition, the leaders of the three countries discussed joint measures to ensure freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
