The court has imposed a preventive measure of detention on the former Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine with the option of bail in a grain fraud case. This is Mykola Solsky.
This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko.
According to the investigation, Mykola Solsky, together with two accomplices, tried to sell 7,000 tons of non-existent corn using forged warehouse documents. On paper, the elevator was filled with the crop, but in fact it was empty.
The court chose for the organizer of the scheme, former Minister Solsky, a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of UAH 63.7 million. This amount corresponds to the amount of damages confirmed by the expert examination, the Prosecutor General reported.
Regarding the other two participants — the director of the agricultural enterprise and its technical manager — a petition was filed with the court to apply a similar preventive measure.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The suspects face imprisonment for a term of 5 to 12 years with confiscation of property under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
