Financial Times names Zelensky person of the year

The Financial Times has named President of Ukraine Vodymyr Zelensky its person of the year 2022.

“Ukraine’s president Vodymyr Zelenskyy is the FT’s person of the year 2022. The 44-year-d has earnt a place in history for his extraordinary display of leadership and fortitude,” reads the publication on FT’s Twitter account.

Zelensky’s decision to remain in Kyiv rather than accept an evacuation offer was one of the most consequential moments in the war, the media outlet says.

 “I am more responsible than I am brave . . . I just hate to let pele down,” the President of Ukraine td the Financial Times in an interview.
