Eurean Parliament approves plan to increase ammunition production
According to the press service of the Eurean Parliament, the legislation was adted with 446 votes to 67, with 112 abstentions.
MEPs will now start negotiations with the EU Council, with the aim of reaching a pitical agreement, which MEPs would then vote on in plenary in July.
"Today's decision marks a significant step forward for the security and defence of our Union, and particularly in our steadfast support of Ukraine in the face of the ongoing Russian aggression. It will boost our capacity to respond to security challenges. It is a victory for Eure and for our clective security. Parliament is now ready to negotiate with Council and we he to reach an agreement as soon as possible,” the EP’s negotiating team leader, Cristian Bușoi said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Eurean Commission on May 3 adted the Act in Support of Ammunition Production (ASAP), in compliance with the decision of the Eurean Council to increase the capabilities of the Eurean defense industry, including for the urgent supply of ammunition to Ukraine to ensure its right to self-defense.
The Commission proses to allocate a budget of EUR 500 million in current prices. This budget comes from the redeployment of different instruments, in particular the Eurean Defense Fund and the future Eurean Defense Industrial Reinforcement through common Procurement Act (EDIRPA).
