EU leaders in London to develop more specific security guarantees for Ukraine – Maternova
EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova reported this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“When it comes to protecting Ukraine, there is an important meeting tomorrow in London, initiated by Prime Minister Starmer, who visited the White House this week, aimed at developing a clearer framework for how the EU can provide security guarantees to Ukraine,” she said.
Maternová stressed that support for Ukraine, increasing EU security budgets and the general situation on the continent will be the main topics of the extraordinary session of the European Council on March 6.
The EU Ambassador also assured that everyone in the EU understands who is the aggressor and who is the victim, adding that real security guarantees are critical to achieving sustainable peace.
“I am convinced that meetings like those in London and Brussels will be important steps towards this goal,” the ambassador said.
