Conditions for Ukraine’s membership in NATO unknown – Dmytro Kuleba
He said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda, according to Ukrinform.
"This is the problem. I mean, when will the conditions be met? What are the conditions? Who should formulate them? What are they? Once again, our position is that there are all the conditions to invite Ukraine to become a NATO member. That is, we have fundamentally different positions here. Their position is that there are some conditions that need to be fulfilled. We will work with our allies to ensure that everything does not stand still and we are moving forward," the minister said.
According to him, the United States and Germany were the most conservative about Ukraine's future membership in NATO. At the same time, the minister noted, the USA "played an important, decisive re in making the word 'invitation' appear in the text at all."

"And Germany, in the end, did not resist this either," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.
As reported, Secretary General Jens Sttenberg said on the first day of the NATO summit that NATO heads of state and government agreed to cancel the requirement for a Membership Action Plan for Ukraine and said they would extend an invitation to Ukraine to join the Alliance after fulfilling the conditions.
According to him, the absence of a timeframe for granting Ukraine NATO membership in the communiqué adted at the summit is not something extraordinary, as there is no timeframe in NATO membership processes, but everything is always conditioned.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Vodymyr Zelensky called the absence of a timeframe for inviting Ukraine to NATO and for its membership in the wording being prepared for the Vilnius Summit "unprecedented and absurd."
The State Department noted that Ukraine has made important progress in implementing reforms, but additional steps need to be taken to meet all the requirements for NATO membership. And NATO allies need to focus on strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in time of war.
