Canadian PM Discusses Ukraine's Path to Peace with Starmer, Zelensky
As reported by Ukrinform, the Prime Minister of Canada announced this on the social network X.
“This morning I spoke with Prime Minister Starmer, President Zelenskyy and many of our closest partners to consider Ukraine’s path to peace,” Carney wrote.
Carney noted that Canada supports the initiative for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. “Russia must stop its attacks and engage in dialogue. It is time for Russia to come to the negotiating table with good intentions,” he added.
According to Carney, in accordance with the agreement reached by G7 foreign ministers at a meeting in Charlevoix, Canada, the G7 countries are strengthening their monitoring of sanctions against Russia to ensure their implementation.
“Canada is a strong ally of Ukraine. We will provide Ukraine with the military support it needs to defend itself, now and in the future,” Carney said.
