Biden to discuss Ukraine with G7 leaders

This announcement was made by White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby during a press briefing in Washington on Thursday, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.

Kirby said that President Biden will speak virtually with his G7 cleagues on December 13. They will discuss various aspects of their clective support for Ukraine.

While Kirby did not provide specific details, he noted that the discussion will flow the U.S. allocation of $20 billion to a World Bank fund. This fund is part of the G7's emergency loan initiative of $50 billion aimed at providing economic support to Ukraine.

Kirby highlighted that the initiative aims to utilize revenue from frozen Russian sovereign assets to assist Ukraine's reconstruction. This approach is designed to alleviate the financial burden on taxpayers in Western countries.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, on Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Treasury announced a $20 billion loan for Ukraine under the G7 initiative to use frozen Russian assets as part of the $50 billion aid plan.
