Azerbaijan Reports Armenian Attack – Yerevan Denies

On Sunday, March 16, the Armenian Armed Forces allegedly fired small arms at the positions of the Azerbaijani army.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported this, as reported by AZERTAC and Ukrinform.

It is specified that the attack took place at about 9:45 local time from Armenian positions near the village of Dig in the Goris region. However, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry did not provide additional details.

In response, the Armenian Defense Ministry denied the accusations, claiming that Azerbaijan's statements were not true.

Armenia also reiterated its request to establish a joint Armenian-Azerbaijani mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations, but Baku has not yet responded to this initiative.

On March 14, Azerbaijani President Ilham Alev reportedly said that achieving a ceasefire does not mean the end of the war, as real peace will only be established after the signing of a peace agreement.

Earlier, on March 13, Azerbaijan and Armenia completed discussions on the text of a peace treaty, but tensions remain high.
