Air defenses for Ukraine to be on t agenda at 23rd Ramstein meeting – Pentagon

Discussion of portunities to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities, including with Patriots and other systems, will be the focus of the 23rd meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in Brussels on Thursday, June 13.

This was reported on Wednesday by the Deputy Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense, Sabrina Singh, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"Air defenses are a priority for Ukraine. It’s something that they need, whether it be in the Patriot or other forms. And so I'm sure that’s going to be a tic of discussion tomorrow at the UDCG,” the spokesperson said.

She also noted that the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, together with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, flew to Brussels on Wednesday to participate in the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. There, he will also take part in the NATO defense ministerial on Friday.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, the so-called Ramstein format, includes nearly nations aiming to coordinate efforts to support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
