The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Poland carried out the evacuation of 16 Ukrainians from the Middle East on March 11-12. They were taken to Warsaw.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
It is noted that this evacuation was provided by Ukrainian diplomats in Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait. All the evacuated people were in a difficult situation due to hostilities in the region.
“We express our sincere gratitude to our Polish colleagues for their organizational support within the framework of #PKWBliskiWschód, as well as to the EU for its coordinating role. Poland has once again confirmed: Ukrainian-Polish solidarity is concrete actions,” the message says.
The department also said that evacuation measures are being carried out on behalf of President Volodymyr Zelensky, and those who express such a desire are returning to their homeland. At the same time, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga keeps “personal control” over the protection of citizens' rights and the implementation of evacuations.
In addition, they assured that official Kyiv continues to provide all necessary assistance to Ukrainian citizens in the Middle East and other regions of the world.
