Zelensky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to deceased F-16 pilot Pavel Ivanov

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine to 26-year-old F-16 fighter pilot Pavel Ivanov, who died in battle.

As reported by Ukrinform, the corresponding decree No. 232/2025 of April 12, 2025 was published on the official website of the President.

The title was awarded for personal courage and heroism in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for dedicated service to the Ukrainian people.

“To award the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of Gden to Pavel Vasilyevich Ivanov, Major (posthumously),” the document states.

The President's Office also emphasized that by order of the Ukrainian Air Force command dated April 12, 2025, Ivanov was posthumously awarded the rank of major.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on April 12, F-16 fighter pilot Pavel Ivanov died while performing a combat mission.
