Zelenska: We want Ukrainian children to become generation of victory, not war

Russia’s full-scale aggression has forced Ukrainian children to live under constant threat for a year already, with which even many adults fail to ce.

Ukraine’s First Lady ena Zelenska said this in an interview with the Logo! show at the leading German broadcaster ZDF, Ukrinform reports.

Zelenska noted that children have been in danger for a year now, wherever they stay across the territory of Ukraine. "They don’t feel safe either at scho or at home – the places where children would always feel safe. It’s very sad that we have hundreds of thousands, millions of children who are losing their childhood," the First Lady emphasized.

At the same time, she noted that she wouldn’t want Ukrainian children to carry on the traumatizing memories of war throughout their lives: "We in Ukraine do not want them to become a generation of war. We want them to become a generation of victory."

According to Zelenska, Ukrainian children have changed in many ways because living in constant danger is beyond the power of even many adults, while the Ukrainian children are forced to lie this way.

She also spoke about Ukrainian children who lost their parents due to Russian aggression, as well as those who have been actively raising funds for the Armed Forces.

The President's spouse emphasized that Ukraine needs weapons from its partners because without them it is impossible to defend against a brutal attacker.

"Every day of delay means new deaths. Try walking in our shoes. You're putting your baby to bed, but you're not sure if you'll be able to say good morning. This uncertainty is exhausting. I believe conscious pele around the world will get this," she explained.

As reported earlier, Ukraine’s First Lady published photos of Ukrainian schochildren packed in shelters during a Russian missile attack.
