What is Yuri Zhuravel famous for?
Yuri Zhuravel was born in Ovruch, in the Zhytomyr region. During his school years, his family moved frequently, so Yuri changed several schools. But the happiest period is associated with Haisyn in the Vinnytsia region.
Once in Rivne, Yuriy Zhuravel happened to see a rockabilly band perform, which caught his attention. Inspired by the musicians, he bought a guitar and taught himself to play it.
He received a higher education in the specialty “Fundamentals of Design and Fine Arts” at the Rivne State Pedagogical Institute. Later, he worked at the “Vid Lyantrya” theater and, together with colleagues, created designs for various performances.

From this time (summer 1993) the history of the band “Ot Vinta!” began. Their first public concert took place in 1994. Later, the band began working on an album, they were recognized as the best rock band in the Lviv press, and the band took prizes at many festivals, competitions, and hit parades.
Yuriy Zhuravel is also known as an artist and caricaturist; he worked on drawings and illustrations for various books.
In August 2025, Yuriy Zhuravel announced that he had decided to mobilize. He joined the ranks of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yuriy Zhuravel suffered a heart attack
On Tuesday, February 10, Yuriy Zhuravel published a photo from the hospital. He reported that he had suffered a heart attack. Later, his wife, Natalia, spoke in more detail about his condition.
Over the past few weeks, there have been heart symptoms… and now – a severe massive heart attack. And here I want to say the main thing. Emergency doctors, intensive care doctors and cardiologists – you are real heroes. From the moment Yura called the ambulance himself to the moment of stenting, only 40 minutes passed. 40 minutes that saved lives,
– said Yuri Zhuravly's wife.

Natalia added that Yuriy, as a man, did everything before mobilization to provide his family with everything necessary for life and work during the war and blackouts. But it was not possible to fully monitor his health. The woman thanked the Ukrainian professional doctors, thanks to whom it was possible to stabilize Yuriy's condition.
