Works by seriously wounded soldiers on display at exhibition in Lviv

The Mercury Center in Lviv is hosting an exhibition of paintings and ceramics created by patients undergoing rehabilitation at the UNBROKEN Center.

The Lviv City Council reported this, Ukrinform reports.

“An exhibition of works of art and ceramics by defenders recovering from injuries at the UNBROKEN center has opened at the Mercury Intellectual Art Center,” the Lviv City Council reports.

It was noted that the exhibition featured 48 works that patients and their families created during art therapy sessions and in the rehabilitation center’s creative workshop.

The main goal of the exhibition is to share with a wider audience the experiences of seriously wounded defenders and to demonstrate the importance of therapeutic art for those who suffered during the war.

“In our group, we sometimes call art therapy our psychotherapeutic MRI. It is a wonderful technique that is really useful for diagnosing and treating stress-related disorders,” says E. Berezyuk, psychiatrist, psychotherapist and head of the mental health department at the UNBROKEN center.

The military exhibition will be open until April 13, after which its organizers will hold a silent auction.

As reported by Ukrinform, the first comprehensive space for the rehabilitation of veterans in Ukraine opened in Lviv region.
