Subway shall be closed in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro effective Tuesday, March 17.

The Ukrainian Government at its extraordinary meeting overnight Tuesday decided to suspend all air, rail and bus services between cities and regions of Ukraine, according to Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy.

“From March 18, rail, air and bus intercity and interregional passenger transportations are banned. The national police will monitor compliance with these standards. From 12:00 on March 18, Ukraine suspends railway, air, bus intercity and interregional passenger traffic, and from March 17 the subway stops working in cities,” he wrote on Telegram.

Up to 10 passengers in cabin shall be allowed in urban transport – buses, trolleybuses, trams, and shuttle vans.

No restrictions have been imposed on driving motor vehicles.

People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko, who attended the extraordinary government meeting, confirmed the information in his Telegram channel.

“The Commission on industrial safety and emergency situations, chaired by prime minister, decided to close the subway in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro on March 17,” he wrote.
