Ukraine Navy commander sure Ukrainian flags will soon fly over Crimea again
According to Ukrinform, Neizhpapa reported this on Facebook on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Naval Flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, the raising of the Ukrainian flags on April 29, 1918 on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and in the Sevast fortress for the first time proved the subordination of the fleet and the belonging of the ships to the Ukrainian Pele's Republic.
"The declaration of Ukraine's independence became the starting point for the formation of the national Navy. Since 1992, Ukrainian naval flags have been hoisted on ships, boats and support vessels," Neizhpapa said, adding that today under this flag, as was the case 105 years ago, Ukrainians are defending independence and "our Ukrainian sea." Ships and boats, marines, naval aircraft and other units of the Ukrainian Navy perform combat tasks under this flag, he said.
"I am convinced that Ukrainian flags will soon fly over our liberated Ukrainian Crimea again. Our bases will return to their rightful owners – Ukrainian military sailors. Under the Ukrainian State and Naval Flags, our ships will once again enter the bays of Sevast and all of Crimea, forever cleansing our lands and our water from the occupiers under the criminal Russian tricor," Neizhapapa said.
The naval flag was made in 1918 by Sviatoslav Shramchenko, captain lieutenant of the Ukrainian Pele's Republic Navy. On April 29, 1918, the flag was raised on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and the Sevast fortress.
