Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko says seven new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus have been reported in the capital city of Kyiv.

“Tonight we’ve got positive laboratory-confirmed cases of two women: 29 and 39 years old, and five men from 31 to 50 years old. In total, there are 10 registered COVID-19 cases in the capital today,” he wrote on his Telegram channel on March 21.

According to the mayor, eight of Kyiv residents were infected in European countries – mainly in France and Germany, while two persons were infected in Ukraine from patients in Zhytomyr region and Kyiv.

“Out of 10 patients, five are being treated at Kyiv’s Oleksandrivska Hospital. The remaining five are isolated. They are being treated at home under the supervision of doctors. We are also awaiting confirmation or refutation of the coronavirus diagnosis on three more samples sent to the reference laboratory,” he added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers on March 11 decided to introduce quarantine across Ukraine from March 12 to April 3.

As of the morning of March 21, some 41 confirmed cases of the novel COVID-19 coronavirus was reported in Ukraine, including three lethal.
