Rescue centre for lions evacuated from Ukraine opens in UK
Ukrainian Ambassador Valeriy Zaluzhny reported this on Telegram, informing Ukrinform.
“Great Britain has accepted hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians fleeing Russian bombs and missiles. They have found shelter here, their children have been given the opportunity to study, they have been given support and assistance. But that's not all,” Zaluzhny emphasized.
According to the diplomat, a Lion Rescue Centre has recently opened in Kent, where animals evacuated from Ukraine are currently being held.

“Five Ukrainian lions are living witnesses of the war. Many animals in Ukraine were left hungry and sick, without care due to military actions. Volunteers, veterinarians and the entire team of The Big Cat Sanctuary did a noble job, creating a new home for Ukrainian animals. Now they are safe,” Zaluzhny noted.
As reported by Ukrinform, on March 3, as a result of an attack by a Russian drone in the Feldman ekar in the Kharkiv region, animals were killed and injured. After the last offensive of Russian troops in the north of Kharkiv in 2024, the ekar began to be attacked more and more often.
