Platzkart, titushkas, vyshyvankas: New project highlights catchy images of Ukraine

Some things one sees in Ukraine are impossible to forget — like embroidered vyshyvanka shirts, the Motherland Monument or even the do-it-yourself sculptures from car tires popular in the yards of apartment complexes.

The Icons of Ukraine project uses such distinctly Ukrainian images to provide a visual tour of the country, a land of borsch, Maidan Nezalezhnosti square and the giant Antonov An-225 Mriya cargo plane.
