Part of The Witch of Konot play showcased at Peace Summit

The Ministry recalled that the The Witch of Konot had won the Taras Shevchenko National Prize in the category "Theatrical Art".
According to Yevhen Nyshchuk, the theater's CEO and art director, the piece is "the voice of modern Ukraine, which is fighting darkness for its very existence."
"This is a modern story about the strength of the Ukrainian spirit and its indomitability, the spirit, which is full of the light of truth and sounds loudly today through the ages in a single desire – to live, create, and win!" noted Nyshchuk.

The Witch of Konot play, conceived in wartime, is a modern piece based on the classic, dating back to 1833, originally authored by an outstanding Ukrainian writer, Hryhorii Kvitka-Osnovianenko, highlighting the key features of the national character – a combination of common sense, humor, skill, strength, stamina, wisdom, and wit. This outstanding mix helps the main character fight for the truth and achieve victory of good over evil.
With millions of views on Tik Tok, praise from the Times, and the Shevchenko Award, it's sd out for 12 months ahead, making the play the most pular piece on the modern Ukrainian scene.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on June 15-16, the inaugural Summit on Peace in Ukraine was held in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock, attended by representatives from 92 countries and eight international organizations. All participants of the summit supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Eighty countries and four organizations have signed a joint communique, which other states are welcome to join in the future.
