The highest number of confirmed cases was recorded in Chernivtsi region (1,053).

The number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Ukraine rose by 467 in the past day, to 6,592 as of the morning of April 22.

“According to the Public Health Center, there were 6,592 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 a.m. Kyiv time on April 22,” the Ukrainian Health Ministry said on Facebook on Wednesday. “Of them, 174 were lethal cases, 424 patients have recovered. Some 467 new cases were recorded in the past day.”

As of now the coronavirus has been recorded in the following regions: Vinnytsia region (349 cases); Volyn region (176); Dnipropetrovsk region (150); Donetsk region (16); Zhytomyr region (287); Zakarpattia region (218); Zaporizhia region (141); Ivano-Frankivsk region (589); Kirovohrad region (251); the city of Kyiv (989); Kyiv region (390); Lviv region (274); Luhansk region (26); Mykolaiv region (82); Odesa region (148); Poltava region (116); Rivne region (353); Sumy region (86); Ternopil region (471); Kharkiv region (82); Kherson region (72); Khmelnytsky region (54); Chernivtsi region (1,053); Cherkasy region (206); Chernihiv region (13).

Data from Russia-occupied areas – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions – is not available.

Tests were conducted with the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in the Public Health Center’s virological reference laboratory and regional laboratories.

In total, there have been 19,649 reports on suspected COVID-19 since the beginning of 2020.

As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 6,125 laboratory-confirmed cases, including 161 deaths, in Ukraine as of 09:30 Kyiv time on April 21. Of them, 415 cases were newly confirmed.
