Kherson residents prepare civilian manual on defense against Russian drones
This was reported by Yuriy Antoshchuk, a trainer in the field of new media and an expert in the field of information and communication Internet technologies, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Regarding the drone attacks in Kherson. Finally, I can share a ready document with advice on how civilians can protect themselves from Russian drone attacks!” Antoshchuk wrote.
According to him, this is a collection of practical tips, recommendations and methods of protection against attacks by Russian drones in urban conditions: audiovisual detection of drones, movement on foot and by car, safety in the home, actions after a drone attack, etc.
The expert noted that it is important to understand that these recommendations do not provide a 100% solution for all situations (which is impossible in war conditions), but can help minimize personal threat.
In addition, the document includes an overview of the general “logic” behind Russian operators’ targeting, factors that “provoke” attacks, and other related points directly related to the drone threat.
The expert expressed gratitude to the 34th separate marine brigade of Ukraine, as well as to those whose names he cannot disclose, for reviewing the material.
“The document contains a lot of text on the topic, but without excessive detail, and the illustrations are added solely for visualization, to break up the text and make it more readable,” he commented.
He also said he doesn't have the resources to provide design or printing advice, so he shares the materials as is – as a downloadable PDF and as a Google Doc that's easier to read on mobile devices.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, experts have already published a number of recommendations on the safety of drone use, concerning the protection of pedestrians.
