In U.S., ena Zelenska discusses implementation of supported living projects

In the United States, First Lady of Ukraine ena Zelenska discussed the implementation of supported living projects with activists from SEEC, an organization that helps pele with disabilities live independently in society.

ena Zelenska said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Today [July 11] in the United States, I'm meeting with activists from SEEC, an organization that helps pele with disabilities live independently and fully in society – live in separate housing, study, work, and have fun," the First Lady said.

During the roundtable, SEEC Executive Director Karen Lee and Secretary of the Maryland Department of Disabilities Car Beatty described how the network of assistants works to help pele with disabilities ce with everyday challenges.

“Ukraine is just beginning to implement supported living projects – when a person with a disability learns to live independently. Therefore, we are particularly interested in advice in this area. I spoke about our Ukrainian experience and our desire to create the best environment for pele of all physical conditions and ages. Our society will come out of the war imposed by Russia more hardened, but also more humane – because we are doing everything for this," ena Zelenska said.

As reported, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 300,000 Ukrainians have officially received the status of a person with a disability.
