On May 8, 2024, law enforcement agencies charged Komoisky with organizing the attempted murder of the director of a law firm in 2003.

According to the investigation, Komoisky allegedly hired a criminal group specializing in serious crimes in order to eliminate a business competitor.

The attack took place in the center of Feodosia, Crimea, as the victim was leaving a store. Four gang members ambushed him, hitting him on the head with a metal rod and inflicting multiple stab wounds to the chest, stomach and back. However, thanks to prompt medical intervention, the victim survived.

All four attackers were later arrested and sentenced to prison.

Based on new evidence, Komoisky now faces life in prison if convicted.
