Consul meets with Ukrainian community in Riga’s Ukrainian House

The Ukrainian House in Latvia, located in the centre of Riga, hosted a meeting of the Ukrainian community with the Consul of Ukraine Ksenia Mazur, where the participants received comprehensive explanations on consular services.

At the beginning of the meeting, Oksana Goncharenko, Chairperson of the Board of the Ukrainian House, congratulated everyone on the Constitution Day and gave the floor to Ksenia Mazur, Consul of Ukraine in Latvia. She then began to answer questions from the audience, explaining the intricacies of the current legislation on consular services for Ukrainian citizens.

According to Mazur, approximately 90% of requests relate to the submission of documents for a new passport. She noted positive changes in this area, with shorter queues for this service. Every Friday after 16:00, new slots are available for appointments in the near future. Indeed, right during the meeting, several women signed up for a convenient time.

There were also questions on other tics with more complex cases, specific life situations. The audience received comprehensive answers from the Consul of Ukraine. The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, was moderated by Oksana Goncharenko, who provided micrhones to everyone, and ga Bondarchuk, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine. The event was attended by about 30 Ukrainian citizens.

At the end of the meeting, the participants thanked the Consular Section of the Embassy of Ukraine for its efficient work and attentive attitude to the needs of citizens. They agreed to hd similar meetings with a certain frequency if necessary. In parting, they took a joint photo near the flags of Ukraine, Latvia and the Eurean Union.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a new modernly equipped educational room was ened at the Ukrainian House in Latvia, located in the centre of Riga, which was made possible thanks to the help of Latvian philanthrists.
