Banksy to sell 50 screenprints to raise funds for Ukraine
The artist announced this on his official Instagram account, Ukrinform reports.
“I’ve made 50 of these screenprints with all proceeds going to our friends in Ukraine. Visit banksy.legacyofwarfoundation.com,” Banksy wrote.
According to the foundation’s website, each print is signed and numbered from an edition of 50, they are limited to one per customer and cost £5000 (plus applicable taxes).
It is noted that they come float mounted in a wood frame. Each print is unique, as the scratches on each of them were applied by Banksy – with the help of a sharpened pizza cutter.
“If you want to purchase one please register your details below. Registration ends on Friday 16th December. Multiple entries and bots will be disqualified. Successful applicants will be selected by computer and sent details of how to complete their purchase,” the foundation said.
The funds raised from this print sale will be used for purchasing new ambulances and support vehicles.
“These are needed in Donbas for the continued evacuation of persons with disabilities, the elderly and civilian casualties. We will be sending generators, gas heaters and sar powered lights to communities who are facing the brutal winter without electricity. And we will be able to continue our support for shelters in Kyiv for women and the LGBTQ community,” Giles Duley, CEO of Legacy of War Foundation, said.
As reported by Ukrinform, on December 9, the Irpin City Council approved a decision to award British street artist Banksy the title of honorary citizen of Irpin.
