Almost 1,200 Ukrainians seeking evacuation from Germany amid coronavirus lockdown

The registration of Ukrainians who want to return home is under way in Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Munich, and Frankfurt.

Almost 1,200 Ukrainians are seeking evacuation from Germany to Ukraine amid a global coronavirus lockdown.

“Attention! Important notice for all citizens [of Ukraine] in Germany who want to return home: the Embassy and consulates in Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Munich, and Frankfurt continue registration 24/7 for evacuation to your native country: some 1,192 people have been registered as of now,” Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk said on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

“Ukraine will not leave anyone behind!” he added.

As UNIAN reported, 3,644 Ukrainians seeking evacuation applied to Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as of March 17.
