Two residents of Zaporizhia died and two Kyiv residents were injured: the consequences of a road accident in the Khmelnytskyi region

Over the weekend, February 14-15, two road accidents occurred in the Khmelnytskyi region. Two residents of Zaporizhzhia died and two residents of Kyiv and a resident of Starokostyantyniv were injured as a result of the accidents.

This was reported to the police of the Khmelnytskyi region.

The first accident occurred on February 14 on the Zhytomyr-Chernivtsi highway in the village of Motrunky, Shchyborivska tergroma.

“A collision occurred between a Renault Logan car driven by a 61-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia and a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 51-year-old resident of Starokostyantyniv,” the report says.

According to law enforcement officials, as a result of the accident, a 63-year-old passenger in a Renault Logan died on the spot from her injuries. The driver of this car died in the intensive care unit of the regional hospital. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz also received injuries and was hospitalized.

The police of the Khmelnytskyi region reported that criminal proceedings were opened under Part 3 of Article 286 The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years. The second accident occurred on the Stryi – Izvaryne highway near the village of Geletyntsi.

“A collision occurred between a BMW X5 car driven by a 21-year-old Kyiv resident and a Volvo truck driven by a 64-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region,” the police reported.

According to law enforcement officials, as a result of the accident, the driver of the BMW X5 and his 22-year-old passenger received serious injuries. Both were hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the regional hospital.
