Today is the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region from Russian occupation.

April 2, 2026 marks four years since the de-occupation of the Kyiv region. The joint actions of the Defense Forces, volunteers, volunteers, and locals managed to repel the Russian army and liberate the region. Fierce fighting lasted 38 days.

On the evening of April 2, 2022, the Ministry of Defense announced that the Ukrainian military had liberated the Kyiv region from the Russian army. At that time, the last Russian units withdrew from Bucha, Gostomel, and Borodyanka. A few days earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had liberated Irpin.

The Russians left behind ruins, torture chambers, and graves. According to KOVA, during the occupation, the Russians killed 1,370 residents of the Kyiv region, 714 of whom were tortured.
