Kyiv law enforcement officers reported the discovery of two mobilization evasion schemes. Three suspects were detained who offered jobs to willing military conscripts with subsequent reservations for money.
This was reported by the Kyiv police on Wednesday, April 15.
According to investigators, one of the schemes was organized by employees of a local university – a department specialist and an assistant to the first vice-rector. For $6,000, they promised to employ a conscript as an administrator at a university cafe, with subsequent booking for the period of mobilization.

The services offered included collecting documents for the human resources department, briefing on interview behavior, and lobbying the educational institution's officials to hire the “client,” the report said.
“The capital's police prevented a 33-year-old resident of Kyiv region from pulling off a similar deal. For $2,000, he decided to help his friend take a position that completely involved reservation and subsequent deferment from military service for 11 months,” the law enforcement officers said.
The police reported that all those involved were detained while receiving part of the agreed amount of money from clients.
All three were charged under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For abuse of influence, they face up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
On April 15, the SBU reported that two assistants to MPs from the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party were detained in Kyiv on suspicion of fraud. According to the case materials, they offered men liable for military service money to avoid mobilization by using forged medical certificates stating they were unfit for military service or to travel abroad. After receiving the money, they disappeared.
