
Law enforcement officers continue to identify Russian servicemen involved in crimes against civilians during the occupation of Bucha in the Kyiv region. So far, two Russian servicemen have been reported suspected, and charges have been filed against three others.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Prosecutors have charged two Russian servicemen with attempted murder and cruel treatment of civilians. The maximum penalty for the charges is life imprisonment.
- According to the investigation, a sniper scout of the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Federation was patrolling Yablunskaya Street in Bucha with other soldiers in March 2022. At that time, local residents were burying a civilian man who had died as a result of hostilities near a residential building. Seeing the civilians, the suspect opened fire. The man managed to hide in the basement. This is the fifth time this soldier has been held criminally liable for war crimes committed in Bucha.
- Another serviceman of the 76th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Federation, according to the investigation, in March 2022 in Bucha beat a local civilian and mocked his human dignity. The victim did not have any weapons. In November 2025, the same Russian serviceman was already sentenced to 11 years in prison for similar crimes committed in Bucha.
