SBU warns Ukrainians about the intensification of Russian propaganda: main points

The Security Service of Ukraine records the activation of Russian special services in the information space of our country with the involvement of propagandists, bloggers and so-called “experts”. These individuals create and distribute anti-Ukrainian content, which the enemy then tries to “disperse” on social networks and controlled media through bot farms.

Main narratives of Russian propaganda

Among the theses being circulated:

  • working out the Kremlin's narratives about the war in Ukraine;
  • attempts to undermine the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine;
  • information campaigns against the military-political leadership of Ukraine;
  • creating the illusion of “loss of subjectivity” in the international arena;
  • spreading panic under the guise of expert assessments.

How Ukraine is fighting information sabotage

The SBU emphasizes that such actions may contain signs of criminal offenses and fall under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular for high treason. The punishment for this crime can be life imprisonment.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion:

  • almost 2.5 thousand criminal proceedings have been opened against Internet agitators;
  • more than 1,700 people were notified of the suspicion;
  • The courts have handed down over 800 convictions.

In particular, 62 propagandists and media workers have been charged in 162 criminal cases. 16 of them are accused of treason, and the courts have already handed down 10 guilty verdicts.

Appeal to citizens

The Security Service of Ukraine calls on Ukrainians to observe information hygiene, not to distribute dubious content, and not to succumb to information provocations of the enemy.

Be vigilant! If you discover suspicious materials or individuals distributing them, notify the appropriate authorities.
