He wanted to go to Romania, but got into trouble: a Kyiv resident was rescued for five hours in the mountains

Two boys, an 18-year-old resident of Kyiv and a 23-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih, got lost in the Carpathians. They were left without food and equipment and asked for help.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine emphasizes that the travelers did not take the necessary equipment, food, and water supplies.

The disappearance of two tourists was reported to the State Border Guard Service hotline by an acquaintance of the lost people.

The woman told the border guards that the boys could not find their way and needed rescue.

A response team from the “Business” department of the Mukachevo detachment immediately set out to search.

The operation to rescue the amateur tourists lasted almost five hours.

At around 3 a.m., border guards managed to find a man from Kyiv and a man from Kryvyi Rih.

Administrative reports were drawn up against the violators.

— Mountain hiking is not only a great way to have an active vacation, but also a serious challenge that requires careful preparation! There are many threats in the mountains: sudden changes in weather (prolonged rains, strong winds, snowfalls, avalanches), flooding, thick fog, wild fauna, destruction of trails, and difficult terrain, — say rescuers.
