Przewalski's horses will be treated to a special lunch at the Kyiv Zoo

On Saturday, March 1, many countries celebrate World Horse Day. On this occasion, the Kyiv Zoo will be hosting a special festive lunch.

The capital is also joining this campaign to draw attention to the well-being of horses, representatives of the Kyiv Zoo reported.

The zoo also said that wild horses lived on Ukrainian lands since the times of Kievan Rus, until they were destroyed during the reign of the Russian Empire. The restoration of the Przewalski's horse population was possible thanks to the work of specialists from the Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve, the Kyiv Zoo, and other Ukrainian and foreign institutions.
