In the capital, law enforcement officers detained a local resident. He is suspected of offering to help pass driving exams. The “services” were paid.

The suspect is a 41-year-old Kyiv resident. According to the case materials, he promised to influence officials at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center.
The investigation established that the suspect was approached by a man who wanted to obtain a driver's license. During a personal meeting, the suspect said that for a “guaranteed” passing of the theoretical exam, it is necessary to pay $2,000, and for a practical exam – another $300.
“Later, the attacker offered to organize a theoretical exam at one of the service centers in the city of Cherkasy, assuring that during the test there would be a person nearby who would suggest the correct answers. In addition, he emphasized that if the previously agreed amount was not paid, it would be impossible to pass the exams,” the report says.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect while receiving the agreed amount of money. The investigation is ongoing under Part 3 of Article 369-2. Receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing a decision-making process by a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with the extortion of such benefit, is punishable by up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property. The court has currently chosen a preventive measure for him – detention with the possibility of posting bail (over 3.3 million hryvnias).
It was previously reported that law enforcement officers suspect the head of a metropolitan driving school. According to the case materials, he helped future drivers pass the exam at the Ministry of Internal Affairs service center without undergoing practice for money. The suspect involved his assistant and an intermediary in this scheme.
