In Kyiv, heating networks were repaired with an overpayment of over 900,000 hryvnias. The head of the department of the Kyivteploenergo municipal enterprise is suspected of embezzlement. Law enforcement officers have transferred the case materials to the court.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.
It is noted that the person involved was exposed last summer. According to the case materials, the official improperly performed her duties. The case involved repairs to heating networks in the Troyeshchyna microdistrict. About 9.4 million hryvnias were allocated from the capital's budget for it.
“The official did not check the validity of the cost of construction materials and agreed on financial documentation with inflated prices. As a result, the utility company overpaid more than 900 thousand hryvnias for the purchase of asphalt concrete and crushed stone-sand mixtures,” the report says.
The suspect's actions were classified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official negligence. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years of imprisonment.
It was previously reported that the metropolitan prosecutor's office reported suspicion of official negligence on the part of the head of the department for estimating work of the Kyivteploenergo municipal enterprise. The investigation established that the utility workers and a private company concluded a contract for the restoration of asphalt in places where heating networks are being repaired. According to the results of the examinations, Kyivteploenergo overpaid about a million hryvnias under the contract.
