Overpaid during the reconstruction of the Florovsky Monastery: a former employee of the Kyiv Scientific and Methodological Center will be tried

A former employee of the Kyiv Scientific and Methodological Center will go on trial in the capital. He is suspected of improper performance of official duties during the reconstruction of a cell at the Florovsky Monastery.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.

It is noted that the 53-year-old suspect (former deputy general director) and a private company entered into a contract. The contract was for the construction, restoration, and overhaul of one of the cells of the Florovsky Monastery.

According to the case materials, upon completion of the work, the suspect signed reporting documents for the contractor. They indicated larger volumes of work and their cost.

“Subsequently, more than 15 million hryvnias of budget funds were transferred to the company's account, of which 666 thousand hryvnias was an overpayment,” the report says.

Law enforcement officers informed the defendant of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official negligence. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years of imprisonment. During the pre-trial investigation, the defendant reimbursed and returned 666 thousand hryvnias to the state budget, the police informed.

It was previously reported that the Podilskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has filed charges against the director of a private company. He is suspected of embezzling money during the construction of modular homes in the village of Moschun.
