The number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases worldwide has increased to 1,431,375.

The data as of 08:07 a.m. local time on April 8 was provided by the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The top five countries with the highest number of confirmed cases were the United States with 399,886 cases, Spain with 141,942, Italy with 135,586, France with 110,070, and Germany with 107,663.

The total deaths stood at 82,145. The highest death tolls were reported in Italy (17,127 people), Spain (14,045), the United States (12,907), France (10,328), the United Kingdom (6,159), and Iran (3,872).

Some 301,417 COVID-19 patients have already recovered.

As many as 184 countries have been affected by the virus.
