The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has reported suspicions to the head of the Pechersk District Department of the State Anti-Corruption Commission. He is accused of involvement in the embezzlement of the capital's budget.
This was reported by the press service of the department.
The investigation established that the suspect inspected sections of the road that needed to be repaired and calculated the cost of carrying out pothole repairs. Law enforcement officers found out that in the drawn up acts, the suspect indicated a larger volume of work than was required. That is, asphalt concrete mixtures were written off for sections of the road that did not need to be repaired.
“Thus, for the current repair of roads from Staronavodnytska Street to Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, more than 430 thousand hryvnias were overpaid from the capital's budget,” the report says.
The actions of the utility worker were classified under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 4 of Article 191 Aiding the appropriation of budget funds committed by an organized group of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
The prosecutor's office noted that within the framework of this criminal proceeding, the head of the municipal SHEU of the Pechersk district of Kyiv was previously informed of the suspicion. The investigation is ongoing.
It was previously reported that law enforcement officers sent two charges to the court against the head of the municipal enterprise “SHEU Podilskyi district” in Kyiv. The investigation established that the municipal enterprise under the leadership of the defendant purchased road salt. Its cost was overstated by more than 850 thousand hryvnias. The suspect also did not analyze the prices of asphalt concrete mixture. As a result, it was purchased, overpaying almost 750 thousand hryvnias.
