Law enforcement officers have submitted the case materials to the court: two men are suspected of murdering a passerby

Two local residents will go on trial in Kyiv. They are accused of fatally beating a 53-year-old man in the city's Dniprovskyi district.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred in October last year. Then, the capital's police received a report that the body of a beaten man was found on Kharkiv Highway.

Law enforcement officers determined that two Kyiv residents, ages 27 and 28, had been drinking alcohol. When they ran out of alcohol, they went to a store and, for fun, tore off license plates from cars parked along the road.

“Later, the attackers noticed an unknown man walking down the street. One of the suspects hit him on the head with a license plate torn from someone else's car. When the victim fell to the asphalt, both attackers began to kick him repeatedly. The 53-year-old man died on the spot from his injuries,” the report says.

The police found the suspects and detained them. The suspects were charged under clauses 7, 12, part 2, article 115 Premeditated murder committed for hooligan motives by a group of persons of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Both defendants were given a preventive measure – detention. The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment.
