A warehouse building caught fire in the village of Pohreby, Brovary District. The preliminary area of the fire is 5,500 square meters.
This was reported to Suspilny by Victoria Ruban, a spokeswoman for the State Emergency Service of the Kyiv region.
More than 60 rescuers from Kyiv and the region, 16 pieces of equipment, as well as local fire departments are working to extinguish the fire. According to preliminary data, there are no deaths or injuries.
Due to the warehouse fire, smoke is possible in the Desnyanskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, and Podilskyi districts of the capital, the Kyiv City State Administration informed.
“Until the air quality situation improves, we recommend that residents of these areas close their windows and limit their time outdoors,” the message states.
The fire in the warehouse building was extinguished at 18:40. Grass was also burning in the adjacent area of 1 hectare, which was also extinguished. According to preliminary data, there were no fatalities, one person sought medical attention. The causes of the fire are being established.
