Kyiv woman detained after hitting soldier on the head with a bottle

In Kyiv, police detained a local resident. According to the case materials, she hit a soldier on the head with a bottle because of a remark.

This was reported today, May 22, by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.

It is noted that the incident occurred yesterday in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. The investigation established that the 52-year-old serviceman was returning home after duty. He made a remark to the drunk girl and her companion, who were behaving loudly and swearing in the trolleybus cabin.

“In response, the young men engaged in a conflict and later, at a public transport stop, the 18-year-old offender hit the victim on the head with a bottle. As a result of the attack, the man received physical injuries in the form of soft tissue injuries to the head, and doctors also preliminarily diagnosed a closed head injury. The victim refused hospitalization,” the report says.

Law enforcement officers detained the defendant and initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional slight bodily harm. The maximum sanction of the article provides for correctional labor for a term of up to one year. A report of suspicion is being prepared for the detainee. Also, the police have drawn up administrative materials against the violators under Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism) and Article 175-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (smoking of tobacco products in prohibited places), the police informed.
