
The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against a resident of the region. He is accused of illegally manufacturing and trading counterfeit alcohol.

The investigation established that a resident of Kyiv region organized clandestine production of alcohol in a warehouse without registering his business activity and obtaining the necessary licenses. The suspect established a full cycle: from purchasing raw materials to manufacturing and selling products under the guise of well-known brands (“Pshenichna”, “Moldova”).
According to the case materials, the defendant used industrial equipment: pumps, filtration systems, large-volume containers, and electronic scales. He ordered raw materials, alcohol, and counterfeit packaging materials online.
“He packed the finished products in plastic containers and tetrapack-type packaging and sold them as vodka and cognac of popular brands. The man was engaged in illegal activities from 2021 to November 2022. During the searches, more than 6 thousand liters of alcohol-containing substances, ready-to-sell counterfeits, equipment and packaging materials were seized. The total value of the seized items is over 2.5 million UAH,” the report says.
The defendant was informed of suspicion of illegal manufacture and sale of excisable goods (Part 1, 2 of Article 204) The maximum sanction of the article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment with confiscation and destruction of illegally produced goods, production tools, and raw materials for their manufacture. It was previously reported that law enforcement officers have exposed a group of people suspected of organizing the illegal sale of tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and alcohol. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized more than 15,000 packs of cigarettes, almost a thousand e-cigarettes and containers with smoking liquids, 130 packs of tobacco, almost 200 liters of counterfeit alcohol, cash, mobile phones and draft notes.
