In the town of Skvyra in the Bila Tserkva region, an 89-year-old local resident died during a fire on his personal plot.

According to preliminary information, the man was burning dry plants in the garden. Due to the wind, the flames quickly spread throughout the area.
The owner died on the spot as a result of the fire. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
Investigators opened a pre-trial investigation under the article on violation of fire or technogenic safety requirements, which caused the death of a person.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 192 fires in ecosystems have been recorded in the Kyiv region, with a total of more than 111 hectares of territory burning.
