He set fire to his ex-wife's door: Kyiv region law enforcement officers suspect a 56-year-old man

In the Kyiv region, in Brovary, law enforcement officers reported a 56-year-old man to the police for suspicion. He is accused of deliberately setting fire to the door of his ex-wife's apartment.

This was reported today, May 26, by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Kyiv region.

The investigation established that at night, after a conflict with his ex-wife, the defendant came to her house. In the common corridor of the house, he used matches to set fire to the front door of the apartment, where the victim was at that time. Then the man left.

The arson damaged the paneling of the front door of the apartment. Police detained the suspect.

Currently, investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – a completed attempt to intentionally destroy someone else's property by arson. The investigation is ongoing, the police informed.

On March 9, it was reported that a Kyiv resident was detained on suspicion of setting three cars on fire in the Dnipro district after a conflict with a neighbor. According to investigators, the man set fire to a rag and threw it at the cars. As a result of the fire, the woman's vehicle and a neighboring car were completely destroyed, and another car was damaged.
