Law enforcement officers have detained a suspect, a Kyiv resident, who, according to investigators, committed a shooting in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. As a result, a woman was injured.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv.
It is noted that the shooting occurred on Buchanska Street. Medics hospitalized a 39-year-old Kyiv woman with a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Law enforcement officers determined that a 56-year-old local resident met an acquaintance on the street. During the conversation, a conflict arose between them. Her husband and father came to the woman's aid.
The suspect then pulled a gun from his jacket pocket and shot one of the men, then another shot into the thigh of his friend, and fled, police said. The suspect was located and detained.
Law enforcement officers informed him of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 296 Hooliganism committed with the use of weapons of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.
It was previously reported that a 34-year-old man reported to the capital's police that two strangers approached him on the street and forced him to transfer 5,000 hryvnias to their account, threatening him with a grenade. The perpetrators were two foreigners, and they were sentenced to 8 years in prison. The attackers had previous convictions, and one was on the international wanted list.
Also in Kyiv, a man detonated a grenade in a hostel during a conflict with a roommate. No one was killed. Law enforcement officers detained a 27-year-old suspect.
